How do greenhouse gases impact dirt? What does dirt have to do with community health, and why should we care?

Join Dr. Saikawa as we explore these questions. We'll also discuss how Environmental Justice is connected to Emory's mission and share how undergraduate students work alongside faculty in Atlanta-area research.

Saikawa’s research investigates the sources and magnitude of emissions linked to air pollution, climate change and soil contamination. Professor Saikawa completed her PhD in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy at Princeton University. Prior to joining the faculty, Saikawa completed post-doctoral training in atmospheric chemistry at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Professor Saikawa directs the Emory Climate Talks and leads an annual student cohort to the United Nations Climate Change Negotiations.
