We hope this email finds you well as the school year comes to a close. But before you sail off into the sun-kissed days of summer, we wanted to let you know how you can stay informed of key dates and deadlines over the summer.
Be on the lookout for this bi-weekly email in your inbox. We will also be sending a copy to your parents/supporters to keep them informed too.

Here are your most important checklist to-do items for the next two weeks. For more information on these items, make sure you read this newsletter in its entirety or check the Welcome Website.

What Else You Need To Know |
- Summer Communications: To update your contact information for summer communications from the Office of Enrollment Services:
The Office of Enrollment Services will communicate with you over the next few months regarding your final transcript and college credit (from college courses, AP/IB, etc). Check to make sure we have the correct email address for you now and throughout June and July. This is especially important if you have an email provided by your high school that will expire when you graduate.
- Emory Email Account: You will be receiving important communications to your emory.edu email address throughout the summer regarding course registration and required health documents, so be sure to set up your Emory email account now and get in the habit of checking it regularly.
Your Emory email account is part of Office 365, a cloud-based communication system provided to all students. It includes web-based email with 5TB file storage, personal and shared calendars, and much more. Office 365 email can be set up on mobile devices using these instructions.
Still have questions? Check out these FAQs, download the Oxford Student IT guide, or contact Oxford College Information Technology (OCIT) at oxford-helpdesk@emory.edu. |
- Housing: The deadline to submit your housing application via the MyHousing portal is June 1, and housing assignments will become available in your MyHousing account by 12 pm ET July 15.
Click here for more information about living on campus. Have questions about housing? Please contact Residential Education & Services at RES@emory.edu.
- Gap Year Request: Oxford College's deadline to defer enrollment, or take a gap year, is June 1. For more information, please review Emory's Deferred Admission Policy.
If you are considering a gap year, review the policy and then submit the deferral request form here. Requests are reviewed by the Director of Admission, and students can expect a response in 7-10 business days.
Deferral requests can be made for a semester or a full year. Students who defer their enrollment for a semester are expected to begin in Spring (January) 2025 and students who defer enrollment for a year are expected to enroll in Fall (August) 2025. Occasionally 2-year gap years are approved for military or religious commitments.
- Student Parking Permits: If you plan to bring a vehicle to Oxford College, during the fall and/or spring semesters 2024-2025 and have not already registered your vehicle, you should do so here. The deadline to register your vehicle is June 15 to avoid a $25 late fee.
The cost to register your vehicle is $125.00 per semester. The parking permit fee will be billed to your student account as part of the pre-term registration bill. If you plan to keep your vehicle on campus for both the fall and the spring semesters, you should register for both the fall and spring semesters when registering. Student parking permits will be available for pick up during First Year Student Orientation.
Registration does not automatically mean you are approved for a permit. Vehicles on campus that are not approved will be subject to parking violations and could result in the vehicle being towed off campus at the owner’s expense. Parking permits are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis, so apply as soon as possible.
If for any reason, you determine that you no longer need a parking permit or have any questions please call 404.991.1781 or email oxford.transportation@emory.edu. Learn more about parking permits here.

NSO is designed to welcome you to the Oxford community and make your transition to campus as smooth as possible. You'll get the chance to experience traditions like the Oxford Olympics, and have opportunities to meet faculty, staff and students, with the guidance of your sophomore Orientation Leader.
Get ready to meet new friends, try new things, and have some fun!
Students are able to invite family and supporters to campus to help them move in. We have a special program for guests on August 23 which will conclude just before dinnertime. At that point, we ask family members to depart campus and allow their students to fully engage in the rest of the program.
