- Class Registration: Fall 2024 first-year students will register for classes beginning on August 12. First-year class registration will open on August 12 (1:00 pm ET - 11:59 pm ET) and will resume August 13th (starting at 1:00 pm ET) and will last until August 14 (ending at 11:59 pm ET). Students should check OPUS to confirm their official enrollment times.
Registration takes place in two parts (also known as split registration). During the first split on August 12, students will enroll in up to 8 credit hours. NOTE: Your required DSC_OX 101 will already be in your OPUS schedule and count as three (3) of these credits. This means you will only be allowed to enroll in five (5) additional credits during this first split.
During the second split, which begins on August 13, students will register for the rest of their schedules. While students can enroll in up to 19 credit hours maximum, the Advising Support Center (ASC) is strongly recommending students enroll in 15-17 credit hours during their first semester.
If you have questions about class registration, please feel free to contact ASC at oxadvising@emory.edu. ASC will be monitoring emails leading up to registration, and we will be hosting "registration help" via ZOOM (details posted in Emory Essentials Oxford Edition Canvas Course).

The week you arrive on campus, you will receive a welcome email from your assigned Orientation Leader (OL) who will guide you through the entirety of the NSO program. Feel free to reach out to them with any questions.

You will need an item from list A or items from list B and C. For questions, or to schedule your I-9 appointment remotely, please contact ox-studentemployment@emory.edu.

- FERPA Letter of Consent Form: The FERPA The Letter of Consent form is your chance to let us know if Oxford’s Associate Dean of Academic Affairs or a designated representative can disclose academic information to persons specified on the form. If you grant consent, you will be able to provide information for specific people with whom information may be disclosed. If you choose not to grant consent, you will just need to select “No” on the form.
If you have not completed the form, please do so before the start of classes later this month. You can find the Letter of Consent form and more information about FERPA here. When completing the form, please make sure you include your correct 7 digit EMPLID number.

- Wireless Connectivity: EmoryUnplugged is the wireless network for on-campus computers and mobile devices. Connecting to EmoryUnplugged in our residence halls is a two-step process:
-
Install anti-virus software if your computer doesn’t have one.
-
Install software called Clearpass, which is available for download here (https://emory.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB05941) when you arrive on campus. Browse to a website and you’ll be prompted to download Clearpass.
Emory requires anti-virus software to be installed and active on your computer to connect to the network.
EmoryGuest is the wireless network used for devices such as game consoles, streaming devices, smart TVs, etc., and such devices require registration once on campus.
Student Technology Support (STS), located on the first floor of the Library, will be available during Orientation Friday, August 23, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm should you need wireless connectivity assistance. |
