Here are the most important checklist to-do items for the next two weeks. For more information on these items, make sure you read this newsletter in its entirety and review the Welcome Website.

What Else You Need To Know |

|
- Admitted Student Survey: Please remember to have your student complete the admitted student survey. They received their unique link to the survey in an email from The Office of Admission on May 13. While the survey is optional, it helps us to better understand and improve the college search and selection process for students like . The survey takes less than 15 minutes to complete and student responses are strictly confidential.

|
- Transfer/Test Credit Approval: If your student has pursued college coursework at an accredited college/university and/or has received AP/IB or other test credits and would like to receive transfer credit and/or test credits, they will need to complete the correct form.
|
For AP/IB/other test credits, please have your student submit the Request for Approval of Test Credits form. Oxford must receive AP/IB results directly from the College Board or IB. Please have your student request to have those credits sent from College Board or IB before they submit the Request for Approval of Test Credits form. Oxford cannot post AP/IB or other test credits to your student's OPUS account until we receive this completed form.
For transfer college credits, please have your student submit the The Request for Approval of Transfer Credits Form. We require an official transcript from the college/university where took the class(es). Please send those transcripts directly from the host school to Oxford College's Registrar's Office before submitting the Request for Approval of Transfer Credits form. Do not select "Emory University" if using Parchment to request the transcripts, as those will go to the Atlanta campus. There should be an option to enter an email address, where your student can send it directly to oxregistrar@emory.edu.

- Final High School Transcript: Please be sure your student's high school submits their final transcript to the Office of Admission when it's available. We understand that some school districts do not release transcripts until mid-July. Check your Emory applicant portal to see if it’s been received. Remember, official transcripts must be submitted by your student's school, not by your student themself.

|
|
- Housing Application Reminder: Last week, RES sent an email to students whose housing applications were marked incomplete. If your student submitted the housing application by June 1 but received this notification, you may be missing the parent/guardian verification form. If your student was under 18 when they completed the form, a parent/guardian verification is required.
|

There will be a section for them to add information for a Contact Parent (who we should email to verify their application if they are under 18).

- Required Health Forms: As we have migrated to a new system, our health forms are still in the process of being updated. We will let you know as soon as they are available to be completed. In the meantime, please have your student upload their completed and signed Immunization Form by July 1. For more information, please visit the Student Health Services page of the Welcome Website. If you have questions about the required health forms or immunizations, please contact Student Health Services via email at oxfordshs@emory.edu.

- First-Year Advising Questionnaire: As part of the incoming first-year student checklist, all new students must complete the First-Year Advising Questionnaire. The information must be submitted by YOUR STUDENT, not you, and will be shared with the Advising Support Center and their faculty advisor.'s assigned faculty advisor will also be the instructor of their Discovery Seminar (DS 101) course. Faculty advisors are trained to work with all students, regardless of potential majors, and they will serve as one part of 's advising network at Oxford College and Emory. The information your student provides in the questionnaire will help their advisor prepare to better assist them as they work together. Your student will have the opportunity to meet their assigned advisor during New Student Orientation in August.The deadline for your student to submit their questionnaire is July 15. Please have your student answer ALL questions and be honest with their answers!

- Emory Welcome App for Oxford’s Orientation: Mark your calendars for the launch of the Emory Welcome App on July 1! In addition to the Eagle Update newsletters, the Emory Essentials Canvas course, and our Welcome Website, the Emory Welcome App will serve as an additional guide for onboarding and New Student Orientation.

- Campus Life Onboarding Webinars: Parents and prospective students can find information and resources that will help support the transition into the Oxford community on the Parents and Supporters page of the Welcome Website. Topics will include student health, campus engagement and involvement, advising, course registration, housing, residence living, dining, sending packages and much more. All webinars will include contact phone numbers, websites and/or email addresses.

- Oxford Organic Farm: The Oxford campus has an organic farm! Students can be a part of this farm-to-table experience through the work study program, classes, and volunteering.
|
One theme that holds true on the farm is that the more you give, the more you get. Helping out on the farm means more of our harvest ends up in our dining hall, on the plates of local shoppers, and in local pantries for those in need.
