What Else You Need To Know |
|
|
- Class Registration: First-year class registration began on August 5 (1:00 pm ET - 11:59 pm ET) and resumed on August 6 (starting at 1:00 pm ET). Registration will remain open until August 7 (ending at 11:59 pm ET).
- Enrollment Holds: We also want students to resolve matters that result in enrollment HOLDs. For example, students should complete their Student Health & Immunization compliance. All enrollment holds must be resolved BEFORE registration begins. Do not miss out on your course enrollment because of an unresolved hold.
- Advising Help: By now all incoming first-year students should have scheduled an individual 1:1 appointment with their assigned ASC Advisor (check your Emory email for information about scheduling in Emory Navigate). If you have not met with your assigned ASC advisor or have lingering questions about class registration, please feel free to contact your assigned ASC advisor via email. All ASC advisors will be hosting “Drop-In Hours” for new students during New Student Orientation later this month.
- Add/drop/swap: Students will have the opportunity to adjust their fall schedules beginning on August 13 at NOON. During this period, known as add/drop/swap, students can add, drop, or swap courses. Ideally students should finalize their schedule changes before classes begin on August 27. The add/drop/swap period will remain open until September 10. Students should consult with their ASC advisors if they have questions.

The week you arrive on campus, you will receive a welcome email from your assigned Orientation Leader (OL) who will guide you through the entirety of the NSO program. Feel free to reach out to them with any questions.

- Student Employment: Please plan to attend our job fair on August 25! You'll be able to chat with supervisors and ask questions about the student employment process. Students who plan to work need to bring hiring documents (not photo copies) with you to campus. A list of acceptable documents can be found here. You will need an item from list A or items from list B and C. For questions, or to schedule your I-9 appointment remotely, please contact ox-studentemployment@emory.edu.

If you grant consent, you will be able to provide information for specific people with whom information may be disclosed. If you choose not to grant consent, you will just need to select “No” on the form.

- Wireless Connectivity: EmoryUnplugged is the wireless network for on-campus computers and mobile devices. Connecting to EmoryUnplugged in our residence halls is a two-step process:
1. Install anti-virus software if your computer doesn’t have one. 2. Install software called Clearpass, which is available for download here, when you arrive on campus. Browse to a website and you’ll be prompted to download Clearpass.
Emory requires anti-virus software to be installed and active on your computer to connect to the network. EmoryGuest is the wireless network used for devices such as game consoles, streaming devices, smart TVs, etc., and such devices require registration once on campus.
Student Technology Support (STS) will be available during Orientation Friday, August 22 from 10 am–12 pm on the first floor of the library and from 12 pm-2 pm in the Greer Forum of the Student Center should you need wireless connectivity assistance.
