What Else You Need To Know |
- Class Registration: First-year class registration began on August 5 (1:00 pm ET - 11:59 pm ET) and resumed on August 6 (starting at 1:00 pm ET). Registration will remain open until August 7 (ending at 11:59 pm ET).
- Enrollment Holds: We also want students to resolve matters that result in enrollment HOLDs. For example, students should complete their Student Health & Immunization compliance. All enrollment holds must be resolved BEFORE registration begins. Do not let your student miss out on their course enrollment because of an unresolved hold.
- Advising Help: By now all incoming first-year students should have scheduled an individual 1:1 appointment with their assigned ASC Advisor (students should check their Emory email for information about scheduling in Emory Navigate). If has not met with their assigned ASC advisor or has lingering questions about class registration, they can contact their assigned ASC advisor via email. All ASC advisors will be hosting “Drop-In Hours” for new students during New Student Orientation later this month.
- Add/drop/swap: Students will have the opportunity to adjust their fall schedules beginning on August 13 at NOON. During this period, known as add/drop/swap, students can add, drop, or swap courses. Ideally students should finalize their schedule changes before classes begin on August 27. The add/drop/swap period will remain open until September 10. Students should consult with their ASC advisors if they have questions.

- Vector Programs: Oxford College requires students to complete the Vector programs: AlcoholEdu & Sexual Assault Prevention. These online courses will help students develop the critical skills they need to make more thoughtful and educated choices during their time at Oxford and beyond. To complete these courses, look for a Vector invitation that was sent to your student's email address on file on August 4. If you cannot find the invitation, log in here.

- Orientation: We can't wait to welcome your student to our campus in just a couple of weeks! As you know by now, New Student Orientation (NSO) will begin immediately after move-in on Friday, August 22 and will continue until the first day of classes.
At this point in the summer, your student should have downloaded the Emory App (our guide for all things related to NSO) and registered for NSO. The week they arrive on campus, they will receive a welcome email from their assigned Orientation Leader (OL) who will guide them through the entirety of the NSO program. Feel free to reach out to them with any questions.
If you have any questions before then, please contact us at leadership@emory.edu.

- Student Employment: Please have your student plan to attend our job fair on August 25! They'll be able to chat with supervisors and ask questions about the student employment process. Students who plan to work need to bring hiring documents (not photo copies) with them to campus. A list of acceptable documents can be found here. They will need an item from list A or items from list B and C. For questions, or to schedule your I-9 appointment remotely, please contact ox-studentemployment@emory.edu.

- The Center for Counseling and Wellbeing (CCW): The CCW offers a range of services that promote students' personal, interpersonal, social, development and help address their mental health needs. Appointments become available on the first day of class, and students simply need to call 770-784-8394 or stop by our office in the Murdy breezeway. The counseling staff are all Master's level or higher, and offer confidential counseling services, at no cost to currently enrolled Oxford College students. Also available to Oxford students at no additional cost is TimelyCare, an online platform that offers a range of mental health support services. Have your student click here to set up an account so they’ll have this resource ready when they need it!For more info on all of the services provided by the Center for Counseling and Wellbeing office, visit our page here.

- Tuition: Please have your student check their OPUS account for their Fall 2025 charges. To see their charges, sign in to OPUS and under Student Account, select Charges Due. Please remember that Fall 2025 registration payment is due September 3.
- Financial Aid: Financial Aid for incoming students will disburse August 18 if all disbursement requirements are met. Aid should be deducted from the total account charges when making a payment. First payments will be due September 3.

- FERPA Letter of Consent Form: The FERPA Letter of Consent form is your student's chance to let us know if Oxford’s Associate Dean of Academic Affairs or a designated representative can disclose academic information to persons specified on the form. If your student grants consent, they will be able to provide information for specific people with whom information may be disclosed. If they choose not to grant consent, they will just need to select “No” on the form.
If your student has not completed the form, please have them do so before the start of classes later this month. They can find the Letter of Consent form and more information about FERPA here. When completing the form, please make sure your student include their correct 7 digit EMPLID number.

- Wireless Connectivity: EmoryUnplugged is the wireless network for on-campus computers and mobile devices. Connecting to EmoryUnplugged in our residence halls is a two-step process:
1. Install anti-virus software if your computer doesn’t have one. 2. Install software called Clearpass, which is available for download here, when you arrive on campus. Browse to a website and you’ll be prompted to download Clearpass.
Emory requires anti-virus software to be installed and active on your computer to connect to the network. EmoryGuest is the wireless network used for devices such as game consoles, streaming devices, smart TVs, etc., and such devices require registration once on campus.
Student Technology Support (STS) will be available during Orientation Friday, August 22 from 10 am–12 pm on the first floor of the library and from 12 pm-2 pm in the Greer Forum of the Student Center should you need wireless connectivity assistance.
