Here are the most important checklist to-do items for the next few weeks. For more information on these items, make sure you read this newsletter in its entirety and review the Welcome Website.
|
-
Submit required student health and immunization forms if you haven't yet (was due July 1)
-
Submit AP/IB test scores and the Request for Approval of Test Credits to the Oxford Registrar's Office if you haven't yet (was due July 1)
- We understand some test scores will not be released to students until after July 1, so we ask that students request for the testing organization to send scores to Oxford College as soon as their scores have been released. AP/IB credits will continue to be accepted after July 1. However, we cannot guarantee that requests submitted after July 1 will be processed prior to fall course registration in August. Be sure to send the scores directly to Oxford College (not Emory College/Emory University) for quicker processing.

- Oxford New Student Orientation: Welcome to Oxford College! We’re excited to welcome your student to the Oxford community through our New Student Orientation (NSO), which is a required program for all incoming students.
Orientation begins on Friday, August 22, 2025, and is designed to support a smooth, meaningful transition to campus life—academically, socially, and personally. To help us prepare, please have your student complete the NSO Registration Form by July 28.
Students are welcome to bring family members and supporters to assist with move-in. We’ve planned a dedicated program for guests on Friday, August 22, which will wrap up by 5:00 p.m. ET. At that time, we invite families to say their goodbyes so students can begin engaging fully in the rest of the Orientation experience.
As part of registration, your student will be able to let us know how many guests will be attending—and select their Oxford Orientation T-shirt size. We can’t wait to meet everyone. Your student's journey at Oxford starts here!

- Placement Exams: Oxford College requires all entering first-year students to complete placement exams for select courses, including First-Year Writing, World Languages, Mathematics, and more. These exams help ensure students enroll in the appropriate level of instruction to support their academic success.
For details on exam requirements, locations, and access instructions, visit the Placement Testing page of the Welcome Website. Additional information is also available in the Oxford First Year Experience Canvas course.
The priority deadline to complete all required exams is July 28. If your student plans to enroll in a course that requires placement for Fall 2025, please ensure they complete their exams by this deadline. For questions, contact the Advising Support Center at oxadvising@emory.edu.
