- Housing Assignments: We expect to release housing assignments by 12:00 pm ET July 15. Students will be able to see their Fall 2025 housing assignments by logging in to their MyHousing account. At this time, students will also be able to sign up for a move-in time for August 22. Have questions about housing? Please contact Residential Education & Services at RES@emory.edu.

|
|
- Canvas: By now, all incoming students should have received an invitation to join the Oxford First Year Experience Canvas course. Students also should have received a welcome email from your assigned Advising Support Center contact.
Once your student accepts the invitation (sent to their Emory email address), they can log in with their NetID and Password. If your student has not logged in to Canvas, be sure they check their Emory email for the course invitation.
Content in these modules provide a detailed overview of Oxford College's General Education Program, academic resources and policies, and information to help students prepare for class registration. Additional content has also been provided for specific placement exams (First-Year Writing, Mathematics, and Arabic), pre-professional academic advising materials, and other helpful campus resources.
Be sure to follow the First-Year Checklist on the Welcome Website for updates and important deadlines. The priority deadline for all placement exams is July 28.
If you have any questions about the Oxford First Year Experience Canvas course, you can email oxadvising@emory.edu.

- Discovery Seminars: Every first-year student will enroll in a Discovery Seminar (DSC 101) course as the first step in Oxford's signature general education curriculum focused on Discovery, Exploration, and Reflection. Now is the time for your student to start thinking about their Discovery Seminar for the fall!
The 3-credit Discovery Seminars are offered on a wide range of course topics and allow students to engage in inquiry-based learning with a faculty mentor, who will also serve as their academic adviser, and a small group of other first-year students. See descriptions of the Discovery Seminars here.
Be sure your student submits their preference form to rank their top choices of Discovery Seminars by July 1. Students who do not submit their preferences by the July 1 deadline will be randomly assigned to a DSC 101 course with open seats.

- Ignite Oxford Pre-Orientation: Ignite Oxford Pre-Orientation is officially full, but your student can join the waitlist here.
Please note that completing this form doesn't guarantee students a spot in Ignite Oxford. Waitlist students will be contacted on a first-come, first-served basis, should an opening arise. In this case, they would receive an email notification that a spot has opened and will then have one week to confirm their registration.
After July 15, Ignite Oxford Pre-Orientation will stop pulling students from the waitlist and all remaining students will be notified.
Contact leadership@emory.edu with any questions. Thank you to everyone who has registered for Ignite Oxford. We can’t wait to meet you this August!
