- Orientation: Our entire community can't wait to welcome your student to campus in just a couple of weeks! As you know by now, New Student Orientation (NSO) will begin immediately after Oxford Launch Pre-Orientation on Friday, August 22 and will continue until we depart for London on Tuesday, August 26.
At this point in the summer, students should have downloaded the Emory App (our guide for all things related to orientation) and registered for NSO. The week your student arrives on campus, they will receive a welcome email from their assigned Orientation Leader (OL) who will guide them through the entirety of the NSO program. Feel free to reach out to them with any questions.
If you have any questions before then, please contact us at leadership@emory.edu.

- Prioritizing Your Well-Being in London: As you prepare for your student's semester in London, know that their well-being is a top priority. Adapting to a new environment can present unique challenges, and we are committed to ensuring students have the resources they need to thrive. Students will have access to mental health support through IES Abroad and the TimelyCare app.
- IES Abroad On-Site Support: The experienced IES Abroad staff in London are trained to offer support and connect students with local, English-speaking mental health professionals. The program fee includes international health insurance that covers both physical and mental health concerns, reducing financial barriers to care.
- 24/7 Virtual Support with TimelyCare's TalkNow: All Emory University students, whether in the U.S. or abroad, get free, 24/7 access to TimelyCare's TalkNow service. This virtual telehealth feature lets students connect on-demand with mental health professionals for immediate emotional support. It's a great resource for managing stress or coping with challenges whenever students need to talk. Your student can set up their account at timelycare.com/emory. More information about this service will be shared at Oxford Launch Pre-Orientation.
|
More detailed information about mental health support, including how to connect with IES Abroad staff and fully utilize international health insurance, will be provided to students during IES Abroad on-site orientation in London.

- Tuition: Please have your student check their OPUS account for their Fall 2025 charges. To see the charges, sign in to OPUS and under Student Account, select Charges Due. Please remember that the Oxford Launch: London program costs are due by August 15 and your Fall 2025 registration payment is due September 3.
|
|
|
- Financial Aid: Financial Aid for incoming students will disburse August 18 if all disbursement requirements are met. Aid should be deducted from total account charges when making a payment. First payments will be due September 3.

- FERPA Letter of Consent Form: The FERPA The Letter of Consent form is your student's chance to let us know if Oxford’s Associate Dean of Academic Affairs or a designated representative can disclose academic information to persons specified on the form. If your student grants consent, they will be able to provide information for specific people with whom information may be disclosed. If they choose not to grant consent, they will just need to select “No” on the form.
If they have not completed the form, please ensure they do so before the start of classes later this month. You can find the Letter of Consent form and more information about FERPA here. When completing the form, please make sure students include their correct 7 digit EMPLID number.

- Wireless Connectivity: EmoryUnplugged is the wireless network for on-campus computers and mobile devices. Connecting to EmoryUnplugged in our residence halls is a two-step process:
1. Install anti-virus software if your computer doesn’t have one. 2. Install software called Clearpass, which is available for download here, when you arrive on campus. Browse to a website and you’ll be prompted to download Clearpass.
Emory requires anti-virus software to be installed and active on your computer to connect to the network. EmoryGuest is the wireless network used for devices such as game consoles, streaming devices, smart TVs, etc., and such devices require registration once on campus.
Student Technology Support (STS) will be available during Orientation Friday, August 22 from 10 am–12 pm on the first floor of the library and from 12 pm-2 pm in the Greer Forum of the Student Center should you need wireless connectivity assistance.
